Boggs Eumorphic Projection

Average Equal-Area

Samuel Boggs of the US State Department created this in 1929 by averaging the y-coordinates of the Mollweide and sinusoidal projections. 'Eumorphic' means good shape. By mixing two equal-area projections, Boggs got something with less shearing than sinusoidal and less edge distortion than Mollweide.
