Miller Cylindrical Projection

Compromise Cylindrical

A 1942 compromise between Mercator and something less alarming near the poles. Osborn Miller stretched the Mercator slightly to reduce polar distortion without destroying the rectangular grid. Common in general-reference wall maps.
