Mollweide Projection
Equal-Area Elliptical
The world packed into an ellipse, preserving every country's true area. Karl Mollweide published it in 1805. The equator is twice the length of the central meridian. Shapes stretch toward the edges, but Africa is always correctly sized relative to Greenland.
